As instructors at Fluxo Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, you play a vital role in shaping a positive, safe, and inclusive environment for our students. This Code of Conduct outlines the expectations and responsibilities you must uphold to maintain the highest standards of professionalism and leadership.

1. Be a Positive Role Model

• Lead by example on and off the mats, demonstrating respect, discipline, humility, and integrity.

• Maintain a professional demeanor and avoid behavior that could undermine your credibility as an instructor.

2. Foster a Safe and Inclusive Environment

• Treat all students, parents, and colleagues with respect, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, ability, or background.

• Take steps to ensure all students feel welcome and included. Address any form of bullying, harassment, or discrimination immediately.

3. Prioritize Student Safety

• Monitor students closely during training to prevent injuries and maintain a safe training environment.

• Use appropriate techniques and ensure all drills and exercises are suitable for the students’ age, size, and skill level.

• Enforce hygiene and safety rules, including clean uniforms, short nails, and use of proper equipment.

4. Maintain Professional Boundaries

• Avoid favoritism or forming inappropriate personal relationships with students or their families.

• Refrain from any behavior that could be perceived as unprofessional or unethical.

5. Teach with Integrity and Respect

• Provide clear, constructive, and positive feedback to help students grow in their practice.

• Avoid negative or demeaning language. Critique in a way that builds confidence and skill, rather than discouraging students.

• Encourage sportsmanship, humility, and respect for teammates, opponents, and other martial arts schools.

• Continuously improve your skills and teaching methods by pursuing professional development, training, and staying updated with the latest in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

• Be punctual and prepared for every class, with a clear plan for each session that aligns with the academy’s curriculum and goals.

7. Communication and Transparency

• Communicate openly and respectfully with students, parents, and colleagues.

• Address concerns or conflicts professionally, avoiding gossip or divisive behavior.

• Keep parents informed about their child’s progress and any concerns related to their training.

8. Represent Fluxo with Pride

• Conduct yourself with professionalism at competitions, seminars, and public events.

• Support and promote Fluxo’s values and mission in all interactions, both online and offline.

9. Maintain Confidentiality

• Respect the privacy of students, parents, and colleagues. Do not share sensitive or personal information without consent.

• Use social media responsibly, ensuring posts reflect the professionalism and values of Fluxo Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

10. Be Open to Feedback

• Accept feedback from the head instructor, parents, or students with humility and use it as an opportunity for growth.

• Strive to improve both your teaching and personal conduct based on constructive criticism.
